Freelance Development
I get alot of requests to undertake freelance development work. This is not surprising given my expertise, and the price for my expertise comes at a high price!
PHP Forums
If you're looking for that little bit of help, or you just can't get that php code to work, then I would recommend in the first instance a php forum. I provide a lot of assistance on this forum, a companion website for the Visual QuickPro Guide 'PHP and MySQL' by Larry Ullman.
Contract Rate = $120 per hour
Why am I so expensive?
Because I'm damn good at what I do, and I'm usually contracted to provide unique solutions that very few developers are capable of achieving; hence the expensive price tag.
- Do you need to read or write to excel files (and I'm not talking about csv files here)
- Perhaps you need to read or write to word documents
- Maybe send sms text messages to mobile phones from your website
- Perhaps the website needs to be able to read sms text messages as well
- Maybe you need PayPal, e-commerce, BPay or electronic banking integration
- Perhaps a php desktop application
- Maybe automated ftp and zip file capablities
- Maybe your business needs to send HTML emails, or emails with dynamically generated attachments
- Perhaps the website needs to be able to read emails as well (and grab those attachments that have been sent in)
Most freelance development work won't require anything as sophisticated as what I've just listed above, and for those situations I can offer some of my best computing students to undertake the work under my supervision. The contract rate comes down a lot more and you are looking at around $30 per hour subject to availability and willingness of a student to undertake the work and my availability to supervise.
For further enquiries about development work or hiring one of my students, please use the email address below. If your question relates to any of the bullet points above, then the answer is 'yes', it can all be achieved with php. If you're wondering if a student could program any of the above bullet points, the answer is also 'yes', but the effective contract rate would blowout to about $900 per hour because they'll probably take 30 times longer.
